I have seen so many situations where the Iggy button was useful, and some where it should have been used.  For those who don't know, the Iggy (Ignore) button in RLC allows you to ignore someone.  You ignore them, and they disappear, and you disappear for them.  You cannot see them, and they cannot see you.  There are still some bugs to work out with it, but I have confidence in the programmers that they have worked them all out on the new release.

Women tend to use this feature more than men, but I have some people on my list, too.  Mostly these are people who have made complete asses out of themselves, or are annoying good friends of mine.  It is simple to use, you simply right click on the person to ignore, and ignore them.  You can find them on the list of local people, or if they are standing in front of you. 

The part that annoys me most is when someone is ignored, and they go out of their way to contact the person who ignored them.  Think twice about this, if you have been ignored by someone, be it a friend, ex-lover, or stranger, there is a reason for it.  If they accidentally did it, then they will fix it.  If they didn't, maybe you need to take the hint, and move on.

I have been ignored.  I only know of one person who has put me on ignore.  She was someone extremely close to me.  We had a fantastic relationship.  It all went to hell, and she has iggied me.  I am still on her iggy list, and it is probably for the better.  This way, I have no idea what she is doing, and it has made the transition away from our relationship easier, although there has not been anything easy about it.

An iggied person cannot see, or contact the person, in RLC, or in the Social Center.  They cannot see their profile, or interact with them at all.  Again, there were some issues, that the iggied person's text will start showing up in General Chat (GC) after a couple of days.  I have heard the programmers have fixed it for the new release, but I have not had a chance to really look into it.

What are some good reasons to iggy someone?  Well, that ranges depending on your level of patience and forgiveness, sometimes even your mood :).  I have iggied people just because I was not in the mood to deal with their antics.  What I hear from my lady friends is a range of things.  Some of them iggy annoying people quickly, and others never iggy anyone.  Most of the time, a person (usually a guy) will just get iggied if they come on and start asking women if they want to fuck.  I know of a few women that that line will work on, but not many.

The Iggy function is an awesome tool, when used properly.  I don't know of anyone who abuses it, but there may be someone who does.  I use it pretty sparingly, you have to work hard at being iggied by me!  I also don't think I have been annoying enough to anyone to be iggied, except that one time.  Hell, but who knows?  I certainly wouldn't!
