I know I have harped on this before.  RLC is not a game to all people.  It is has been said a hundred ways, and a lot of people take offense when it is called a game.  Then there are others that get pissy when you tell them it is not just a game.  It is both, and more.  Mostly, it is what you make of it. But this post is not about that, it is about going beyond fantasy land, beyond the game, it is about being a social networking site.

Interestingly enough, stick around on RLC for awhile, and you make some real good connections.  I was sitting in the trans a week and a half ago, and found a person who lived less than 10 miles from my house.  Since it was a guy, I was not as excited.  But, we he is new to this area, and I pointed him to a couple of bars.  I met him at one, and we had fun.  I needed to get out of the house, and don't have many single friends to hang out with.  It was a refreshing change.

On a professional note.  I have also met people who are working with me as clients, and one as a business partner.  I have received some web site work with one person, which could turn into much more.  I have also put up a site for a friend of mine (A blog site lol).  I have done tech support for some people, although that is difficult in a chat program for me.  My business partner and I are working on a set of web sites that will be a nice supplement to our incomes.  It won't make us rich, but it won't hurt, either!

I think that RLC has been a great help to me socially and professionally.  I have been able to come out of my shyness shell some.  I am still working on it, but it is my friends in RLC who give me good advice.  I have been able to make good business connections, to help my businesses grow.  I have also had friends give me ideas for the businesses I currently have.  So, when people just say it is just a game, be polite, let them have their fun, as long as they don't include you (if that is what you want).  Let RLC be what it is to them.  To me, it is far more than a game!

I look forward to the new features that the powers that be are working on for June.  It will make RLC even more interesting that it currently is.  Less of a game, and more of a social networking site.
