The following post is from a friend of mine, IrateQuaker.  Enjoy

I stepped out of the building and put my keys away. I had just arrived earlier this morning and found a place to stay, my bags were still unpacked and lying on the bed, ready for me to be attentive after I had a chance to explore my new home.

People moved about in quick rushes, interested in their personal agendas while others deliberately took their time, carefree with their day.

I spotted a large statue of Zeus in the middle of a park with people milling around minding their own business. It seemed like a great place to lounge around or visit with friends and though I was new and had no friends I started over to take a look around.

I fell in next to another man going in my direction, he was tall like myself and had salty white hair, the dark streaking through it making me wonder if he colored it that way or happened to be lucky enough for it to be natural.

"You new in town?" He asked me and I looked over at him, he was smiling at me, one of those warm friendly smiles covered in wisdom, he already knew the answer and was just being friendly.

"Actually Yes, I just got in today." I said and he nodded, my confirming his guess. "I thought I would try the city out, I hear that it is friendly and I need a fresh start." I said and he smiled.

"Oh, you will find that here." He claimed and stopped near a bench where he offered me a seat and then took his own. "The people around here come regularly and it is easy to make friends fast, I take it since you are new that you have no friends yet." He said, not a question.

"True." I admitted honestly.

"Then I will introduce you to some of mine." He said and I brightened up. It was an incredible testament to the city if there were more people like him living here.

"Hey Josh." The new voice belonged to a dark haired woman who appeared out of nowhere and smiled at the both of us, she was not quite slim, that full figured girl that makes men drool on themselves. Josh immediately stood up and hugged her.

"Hey girl, I want you to meet a friend of mine." Josh turned to me with a grin and I blinked in surprise as I stood up and found myself in the warm embrace of the woman. He didn't even know my name. I didn't even know hers.

"Hey, nice to meet you." She said and with a last wink at Josh went on her way, lazily making her way down the path towards a large grassy mound.

"Wow, people are friendly around here." I muttered and saw Josh nod out of the corner of my eye. "I hadn't expected that." I said and his mouth moved up in a slight smile. "I was wondering...."

"Hiya Gorgeous." I turned to see a woman exuding class come sauntering up to us with a small smile on her face, she had white hair much like Josh's and I noticed that while her clothing was impeccable it was styled to make men notice. I sure did. Josh took her hand and kissed it like a gentleman and then gave her a hug of warm friendship.

"Hey Gorgeous Lady." Josh said warmly and then turned to me, here came another introduction and still I hadn't managed to tell him my name. I shook hands with her with a smile of my own, and then we both watched as she took her seat on the bench between us.
We took our seats again and I wondered if I should keep up my many questions of the city, chances were that I would never see him again and that this golden opportunity would be lost.

"I was wondering...." I started to say as another figure blocked out the sun and caused me to look up. A blonde in a mini skirt came to a stop on her roller blades and I could not help but look over her bare legs and see that not a mark showed, she either didn't crash or had just started.

"My god girl, where have you been!" Josh said as he stood back up for another hug and added a kiss to the mix. The girl purred like a kitten as she claimed her prize from him and I stood rooted to the spot until Josh turned to me with a smile. "I would like you to meet a friend of mine." Josh began as I stood up and suddenly I was included in an embrace of my own. She kissed me on the cheek and then backed away on her skates, turned and fled the area at a high rate of speed.

"I was wondering...." I threw out there quickly so I could get the question off.

"Josh Randall!" Came the sweet barking interruption of yet another woman, flowing red hair casting a halo around her head as she moved in quickly and aggressively claimed a hug and kiss from Josh. I hadn't even had time to sit down.

"Hey there, I haven't seen you around recently, where have you been?" Josh asked her calmly and she grinned and answered with a kiss.

"I can't talk now, I gotta go, you going to be here later?" She asked and Josh nodded vigorously. "I will fill you in then." She said and off she went, a whirlwind of energy and cascading red tresses.

"What were you going to say?" Josh finally asked me and I blinked back at him.

"I was wondering....." Crap, I had forgotten.
