Ok, so the dancing has been around for a little bit now.  It has given me time to play around, and see what I like and don't like about it.  What I don't like about it, umm... well.. nothing. Wow, it has been too long since I have written a post.  I am truly sorry about that.  I have been a bit busy and preoccupied.

There has been a few new features added to the client, and I think I like all of them.  I particularly like the stand up sex.   But, I am also finding it a bit annoying.  It is awesome that it allows you to have sex pretty much anywhere in the virtual world, as long as you can get naked.  I have personally had sex in the street, the Cathedral (no longer there now), and the lagoon :).  I absolutely love it.  More...

I know I have harped on this before.  RLC is not a game to all people.  It is has been said a hundred ways, and a lot of people take offense when it is called a game.  Then there are others that get pissy when you tell them it is not just a game.  It is both, and more.  Mostly, it is what you make of it. I recently had an opportunity to interview a gay man.  I have not met too many gay men in RLC, mostly because I am not in the same areas as them.  I have run into some, and now I find out that there are more than I had thought.  RLC is bigger than most people think!  My friend wishes to remain anonymous, he has his reasons.. so I will respect that for him :).

As most of you know, I had a visitor last week, and a lot of you have been asking how it went.  I had my reasons to wait to post this, and I am not going to get into them at all.

I have heard a couple of horror stories about visits.  Although I have had good experiences with my RL meetings, I was still quite nervous.  She was staying at my house for a week, and that could end up pretty bad.  So, I am sure you can see that it was an interesting situation we put ourselves in.  We both violated rule #1: Meet in public. I am over 21, and I can prove it.  Are you, can you prove it?  I am glad that the age verification system is in place on RLC.  More importantly, I am thrilled that they actually PRACTICE it.  RLC is truly an adult's world.  It is meant for adults, and if my son (15, soon) got in there, he would be grounded until he was 18.  Granted, a minor can skate by as a basic member, but then, they can't see or do any naked stuff.

When I first heard about RLC, I was skeptical...I had used MSN messenger with some friends to play backgammon and we chatted there, but I had never even thought of doing a virtual chat room. The idea appealed to me because I thought, here is my chance to go and be someone who can do the things that I would never do in real life. I wanted to become a tramp...someone who would sleep with anyone and everyone without any of the commitments. It took me less than a day to realize that I couldn't be someone in RLC that I couldn't be in real life. I quickly found myself acting the same, talking the same, caring the same and behaving the same as I do in real life. As it turns out, I made so many friends just being me that eventually I started to wonder what it was about me that attracted people to me so easily.

I had a couple of brief love encounters. Nothing lasting, nothing totally meaningful. Although I will say that I did feel something for each of my partners. I never had sex with someone without getting to know them. I soon found myself not having sex just for the sake of having sex. I was recently asking my friends for ideas on what to blog about.  I got some good responses back.  One of them was a gentle reminder of something I said I would post about.  RLC Marriage.  She (Verns_Dream) then sent me her story, a bit of a long one.  I might even post her story, since it is quite a nice one. 

A lot of new people think that the RLC marriage is kind of odd.  It is a virtual world, why get married?  That brings me to one thing I kind of reiterate among my posts, RLC is different things to different people.  In Verns_Dream's story, she tells about when she was new, she could not understand an RLC marriage.  You can almost hear her opinion change as she writes about the love she meets in RLC. Well, as some of my friends know, I am meeting someone from RLC today.  She is coming to visit me for several days.  We are both nervous, and excited, and all that.  We are both feeling like we are a little nuts.  But, we are both committed to actually meet.

She should be here in the early afternoon, barring any transportation issues.  And I have dinner planned out, and I hope to get some good movie time in with her.  Anything else is totally up to her.
