Crazy_Duck has a nice story that he broke up into several parts. I hadn't decided to put it all in as one post, or several, until this morning. So, I will also be posting it in several parts.
It was a clear night, he sat behind the wheel driving down a remote stretch of highway, thinking about his life, and how it seemed like he’d done nothing with it. As the countryside went from his windshield to his rear-view mirror, he thought about how before he started driving, he had only seen eleven of the fifty states, now he had seen all but seven, and two of the seven were Alaska and Hawaii. He thought about how he was in a dead end relationship when he started truck driving school, how it was becoming the perfect time to drive. He had no children, soon no girlfriend, and no job, and now he’d been driving for a year. One thing he had learned in the year he’d been driving is that the road, although sometimes winding and treacherous, always leads to a place he’d like to be, eventually. One day in Houston, a week later in mid-Missouri. He could also always find time on the road to think about anything and everything he ever wanted to ponder. More...
